Strange Orbit Works continues to prepare to deliver humanitarian aid to our friends in Eastern Europe who are assisting those fleeing Ukraine.
In our first run, we plan to deliver 500 "Basic Packs", 500 "Baby Packs", and 500 "Easy Food Packs" to women with families who are on the move.
Each pack imagines a 1 week's supply of its contents.
We are imagining only a single week because all Ukrainian people are able to travel anywhere in Europe via train for free. Therefore they are reaching destinations where aid is more consistent rather quickly.
The packs however are things that folks are directly requesting while on the move to these more stable locations.
A Basic Pack consists of:
Tampons and pads
Baby wipes
Toothpaste and toothbrushes
Laundry soap
All-in-one body soap/shampoo
Toilet paper
Tissues
Band-aids and anti-bacterial ointment
Razors
A simple cloth drawstring backpack to contain the above
Total to build - 20 USD per pack
A Baby Pack consists of:
Diapers
Diaper rash cream
More wipes
Baby formula (vegan and non)
Simple container for the above
Total to build - 15 USD per pack
A Food Pack consists of
Simple ready-to-eat high energy dry foods with long shelf lives such as:
Granola Bars
Nut Bars
Protien Bars
Trail Mix
Jerky
Individually packaged nut-butters
Simple container
Total to build - 10 USD per pack
As the men (and many women) are mostly staying to fight, those fleeing are usually moms with elderly folks and children in tow.
